Abstract

Many different psychological variables are responsible for the terrorist acts that take place in Pakistan. However, radicalization, extremism, and terrorism in Pakistan were all caused by three primary psychological reasons: group relative deprivation, identity conflicts, and personality characteristics. These factors were responsible for the development of these phenomena. The phrases radicalization and terrorism, as well as the relationship between the two, have been well explained in the existing body of literature. On the other hand, there is a general lack of published material concerning the three most important psychological elements that played a role in the development of radicalization, extremism, and terrorism in Pakistan. When viewed through the lens of constructivism, the purpose of this study is to fill this gap and uncover the psychological variables that lead to radicalization, extremism, and terrorism. For the purpose of this research study, data has been gathered from a variety of primary and secondary sources, including but not limited to books, journal articles, newspaper articles, reports, essays, and speeches. In Pakistan, radicalization, extremism, and terrorism are all attributed to three primary psychological causes, according to this research report. These factors are described above as being the three most important reasons. In Pakistan, extremism and terrorism have emerged as a consequence of the establishment of madras, which are religious schools, and the promotion of Islamic nationalism by extremists. When the level of terrorist activities in Pakistan reached its highest point after the year 2000, the government initiated a number of de-radicalization and rehabilitation programs in an effort to combat violent extremism and terrorism at this time.
